Décor
You can easily find a lot of Noah’s Ark themed decorations and baby gifts out there, but there are a lot of cute things you can put together on your own. Animal print, barn or zoo animal paper plates can be used or you can mix and match bright colors of the rainbow. Ask your guests to borrow their most unique and most realistic stuffed animals – you’ll be surprised at what people find. Especially for twins, decorate in twos - use stuffed or blow-up animals, and set up duplicates of cute baby items. Fill the room with balloons in animal shapes or rainbow colors. As part of a centerpiece fold up brown or brightly colored paper boats and fill the decks with animal crackers for guests to munch on. Use wooden (ark) bowls and wooden platters for punch and desserts.

Food
An ark or rainbow shaped cake. Frost cupcakes to look like animals – use cookies and candies for ears and faces when you can. If you like, frost a layer cake with chocolate frosting and pile your cupcake animals on top – the cake looks like an overloaded ark, can be cut into many pieces and you won’t need to create as many animal cupcakes to serve your guests. Animal shaped crackers or cookies, and sunflower seeds. Cut sliced cheeses, fruit, and sandwiches into animal shapes with cookie cutters. Create a Noah's Ark watermelon bowl filled with fruit salad or melon balls. Make Jell-o rainbows by layering colors in a bundt pan and cutting the circle in half, place 2 halves together standing or lay on 2 separate plates.

Games
Two by Two: This is a great way to break the ice. Have a variety of different sets of stuffed animals. As people walk in the door, hand them a stuffed animal. When everyone has an animal, each person must find the other animal in the pair. They have 5 minutes to find out as much information as they can about each other, and then use that information to introduce each other to the rest of the guests. If you can’t find enough to have two of each stuffed animals use animal pictures or animal stickers – these could even double as name tags.

Animal Baby Shower Game: Here is a list of proper names of animal mom’s and their babies. Print the list on our Noah’s Ark Stationery with just the baby name. The players write in the name of the mom. Whoever has the most correct wins!

  Alligator ~ hatchling
Bear ~ cub
Beaver ~ kitten
Cow ~ calf
Deer ~ fawn
Dog ~ puppy
Donkey ~ foal
Duck ~ duckling
Eagle ~ eaglet
Eel ~ elver

How big is Mom’s Ark?: Pass around a skein of yarn and a pair of scissors as guests socialize. Instruct each person to guess and cut the length of a piece of yarn as long as the distance around the expectant mom’s belly. Have mom cut a length and compare the strands. Whoever had the closest measurement wins.

Guess the Animal Game: Write the names of animals on index cards guests can draw from a pile. Buy some play dough and have guests split into pairs, one sculpting and one guessing for one minute or 30 second intervals. Do a few rounds of elimination - the team who makes it to the end wins.

Survivor Food Challenge: Blind fold guests and gather all different types of baby foods. Get a variety of kinds to stimulate the senses - from pureed fruits and strained vegetables to squishy dried fruits and crispy cereals. You can have prizes for the person who guesses most correctly what things are, the person to last the longest (as the foods get stranger), and for the person who makes the funniest face!

Favors
There are a ton of Noah’s ark and animal themed favors online and at specialty stores to buy, cute Noah’s ark magnets and picture frames, and animal shaped soaps and candles, but you can find a lot of cute stuff at a dollar store or local grocery store too. Here are some easy ideas we’ve put together: a box of animal crackers or cookies, solid chocolate animals (bears, bunnies, and whatever other animals you can find), an animal or rainbow key chain, animal cookie cutters, a small stuffed animal, a small pad of paper in the shape of different animals or animal prints, with a pencil to match. Combine items in a small basket or paper bag or give individually as prizes.
