Make your own cigar box purse with our beautiful Geisha stationery. Geisha Cigar Box Purse Project How-To 2. Place your stationery pieces over the cigar box where you want the design to lay. Trace the outline of the box on the back of the stationery with a pencil and cut out your paper to fit flush to the contours of the cigar box. 3. Leave the sides of the cigar box natural. 4. Once all your pieces are cut and you know where they all fit you are ready to glue them on. Make sure your surface is clean. Pour glue into a plastic container and mix in a very small amount of water. Stir the water into the glue until it is slightly thinner than normal consistency, or use Mod Podge. Paint the decoupage glue onto the cigar box, carefully lay your pieces into place and paint more glue over top of your paper. Gently smooth out any bubbles with your finger and finish off the surface with nice even strokes of your brush. Wait until your surface is dry before laying it down to do the opposite side. 5. When your glue is dry spray your lunchbox with a clear acrylic sealer for a smooth protective finish. 6. Line the inside of your purse with fabric. If you would like a hinge, sew some triangles of fabric together and tack them in the inside of your box. Wrap fabric around a piece of cardboard cut to fit inside, and glue it into the sides of the box to make your lining. 7. String colorful beads along a metal wire and attach with eye screws or decorative hardware to make your handle.
